A lesson on magazine design
I am a 22 year old Junior Graphic Designer, graduating with a predicted 1st class honors in July 2025 from The University of Reading, Typography and Graphic Communication.
My goal as a designer is to use my design skills for good, to make an impact on society. I have already created an impact on consumer behaviour through my Global Goals poster, for responsible consumption and production. My concept was presented to the Creative Director of Project Everyone and was commissioned by the Global Goals team to be posted on the official Global Goals Instagram. The development of this concept helped me understand the importance of design and the impact it can have on people. It was a combination of this project and an Essay titled 'Design for Society' which lead me to start applying responsible design discourse into my work. My recent project Grace & Green period packaging is another example of my desire to make a difference, by addressing important social impact considerations while exploring sustainable materials and manufacturing processes.
